Bodega Garzón Awarded ‘New World Winery of The Year’ by Wine Enthusiast Magazine

, a boutique winery in the idyllic countryside of Garzón,
Uruguay founded by international vintner Alejandro P. Bulgheroni, has
been awarded New World Winery of the Year by Wine Enthusiast
Magazine for its innovation and leadership for Uruguay and
its contribution to the world of fine wine. This recognition will be
awarded to the Bodega Garzón team at Wine Enthusiast’s Wine Star Award
ceremony on January 28, 2019 in Miami, Florida at Eden Roc Hotel.

“We are honored to receive the New World Winery of the Year award for
2018,” said Bulgheroni. “Bodega Garzón is fast breaking through all
barriers in the wine industry and is setting new benchmarks, not only
for Uruguay, but for wine tourism, design, technology, sustainability,
viticulture, and craft winemaking. It’s a very special place and a very
special brand.”

Founded by Alejandro Bulgheroni, Bodega Garzón opened its doors in 2016
to introduce the world to the modern, ultra-premium Uruguay wine scene.
Located 11 miles from the Atlantic, near the tourism towns of Punta del
Estate and Jose Ignacio, Bodega Garzón benefits from cooling maritime
influences. With 550 vineyard acres, plantings over ancient ballast
soils, a 205,000 square foot winery and the talented enologist, Alberto
Antonini, Bodega Garzón is producing a portfolio of wines that reflect
the purity of variety and vineyard – from Albariño to Tannat to the new
icon blend, Balasto.

“To have even been nominated for such an award is an accomplishment, but
to have Bodega Garzón recognized as the New World Winery of the Year is
a humbling accolade,” said Christian Wylie, Managing Director of Bodega
Garzón. “I’m proud of my team and the milestones we’ve achieved together
which continue to motivate us as we strive for excellence in creating
exceptional wines and unparalleled experiences. The best part of Bodega
Garzón is the future.”

The Wine Enthusiast’s Wine Star Award ceremony will take place on
January 28, 2019 in Miami, Florida at Eden Roc Hotel. There, founder
Alejandro Bulgheroni will take the stage to accept the New World Winery
of the Year 2018 for Bodega Garzón.
